My new carburetor arrived recently; it was a 1985 4.2 258 Carter BBD.
The throttle switch on the new one is not wide open. Have most of the emission hoses been disposed of; am I still required to pass emissions tests? Was that installed alongside all the other trash emissions? removed a carter bbd using a stepper.

Since you’ve removed a Carter BBD and installed a new one, you might need to check local emissions regulations to see if your setup still meets the requirements. Many emission hoses are tied to the emissions system, so if they’re gone, you might need to address that to pass inspections.
