I’ve got two classics here: a ‘98 5.9L and a ‘97 5.2L. Anyone else holding onto their ZJs?
If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.

Who’s Barry Badrinath? Just curious.
I wanted the 5.9 so bad when they first came out! Such a solid Jeep.
Beautiful rides! I’ve owned both a ‘93 5.2 ZJ and a ‘98 5.9 ZJ… both were amazing.
You’re right! One of the best Jeeps ever built, no doubt.
I absolutely loved my 5.9! I did every bolt-on upgrade for more power, and it sounded incredible. Really miss it.
I have a ‘98 with the 5.2. A buddy who worked at a Chrysler dealership helped me out when it came in after being stolen. The motor was toast, but he got the last available crate motor that was meant for warranty replacements. The body has about 160,000 km, and the motor’s only at 40,000 km now. Also bored out the catalytic converter, and it sounds awesome.
chanting one of us, one of us, one of us!
I’ve got a ‘94 4.0 with 262k miles on it. Running a 3-inch lift with 235s until my new 31s come in. It’s pretty ugly, so I call it the Franken Jeep… or just the Ugly Jeep.
Long live the ZJ! I have a ‘96 5.2 with 250k miles on it. Reman transmission, a 242 transfer case, and a refreshed engine. Next up is tackling the heater core.
If you gotta ask, you probably can’t afford it, my friend.
