Hey guys, so I’ve got a 2007 JKU Sahara with the stock rims and a Procomp Stage 2 4-inch lift. Lately, I’ve been having this issue where the inside of my tires rub against part of the lift (I think it’s either the sway bar or control arm) when I make sharp turns. It’s getting pretty annoying.
I’m on the hunt for some new rims that not only look good but also have a better offset, so the tires sit a bit further out and hopefully, the rubbing stops. Any suggestions on rims that won’t break the bank? I’m looking to keep it under $150 per rim, and I need to get 5 of them. Nothing super fancy, just something functional. Also, what size rims should I be considering?
Hi @Dolph, The 305/70R17 tire is 33.8 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and fits on a rim that is 17 inches in diameter and 8.0 to 9.5 inches wide. In the high flotation system, this tire size is written as 33.8x12R17.
For your JKU Sahara, consider 17x9 rims with 4.5 backspacing for no rub. Check out TACTIK Circle 8 or Pro Comp Series 69 . Both are stylish, functional, and within budget. Ensure they fit your lift kit. Happy modding!
