I keep seeing this problem with my car. Sometimes it disappears for a while, but then it comes back. The error message says the coolant temperature sensor is showing a low reading. However, my temperature gauge looks normal. How can I figure out if it’s the thermostat or the coolant sensor causing the issue? Thanks!
The error code P0128 signifies that the engine coolant temperature falls below the thermostat-regulated level. This indicates that the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has detected that the engine is operating at a lower temperature than expected.
This code was just on my machine. Although the temperature appeared to be fine, I had my mechanic replace the thermostat. had a recent, little oil leak as well. It transpired that the oil cooler malfunctioned and began to leak oil into the coolant line.
Error code P0128 indicates that your engine coolant temperature is below the thermostat regulating temperature.
If your gauge shows low, it means your engine isn’t as warm as it should be. This tells the computer in your car that something might be off with how hot your engine is.
