We’re looking at a 2012 Jeep with 106k miles. It’s owned by an older woman and has a clean Carfax. All maintenance seems to have been kept up. They’re asking $14,500 and won’t budge on the price. It’s got KC lights, a winch, and heated seats. Does this seem like a good deal?
Is the exterior primered or matte black? Just wondering if it’s clear-coated to avoid scuffs. I got my 2013 a few weeks back for $13,000, and it came with a new windshield. Mine has a lot of aftermarket stuff too, but the seller just wanted to move it.
One tip: let the Jeep sit for a few hours before starting it. Listen for any valvetrain rattles—it could point to top-end issues.
@Tyler
It’s rhino-lined. Looks really good and well taken care of.

We’ll definitely try that when we test drive it. Thanks for the tip.

No problem. Also, look up lifter and rocker arm ticking issues. Sometimes after sitting for a while, the oil drains to the bottom of the engine, and you’ll hear an annoying rattle on a cold start. It can lead to valve train problems later. If the engine’s been started recently, you won’t hear it because the oil system will be primed.
