Use a small pick and slide it under the plastic clip on the connector. Lift the clip just enough to clear the nub and then pull the connector off.

This is the right way to do it. Ignore what I said earlier—I got mixed up.
Follow what the other person said and stay calm.
Even if the plastic tabs or housing break, they’re made of ABS plastic and can be glued back with ABS pipe glue.
If the connector snaps off, the sensor itself only costs about $25, and replacing it is simple. Just take a deep breath, you’ve got this.
