I’ve been looking forever and finally found a decent XJ. Really happy with the find.
Imagine if they just made a limited batch of these…same look, same mechanics, but put them on a modern frame. I bet they’d fly off the lot.

Honestly, there’s a ton of cars they should do this with.
Old-school trucks would sell like crazy.
90s Civics would be a goldmine.
@Vale
One of the candidates should make it a campaign promise: rollback emissions laws so we can make this happen. Just give us basic engines, no fancy 9-speaker sound systems or GPS nonsense. Go back to affordable materials too. Every buyer would add their own seat covers anyway. They just need to make it reliable with simple upgrades. Like, I was stoked they were bringing back the International Scout…until I saw it’s a VW electric. Oh well, might have to start a campaign myself—‘Make Affordable Cars Great Again’. Got a nice ring to it!

I’m here for a classic look but with a modern electric motor. Nothing too powerful, just a solid 200 hp or so. Keep the vintage style. Why do carmakers not tap into nostalgia better?
@Lennon
An electric car with super range would be pretty amazing.

I’ve had a few EVs. For me, 250-300 miles is enough. By that time, I’m ready to stop anyway.

I’d love to see the range of old Honda Insights, Geo Metros, or even the EV1. I think it’d get a lot more folks interested.
@Lennon
Ford nailed it with the Bronco, honestly.
@Aldrin
Jeep’s concepts always look amazing, but they rarely make it to production as-is. When they do, like the Wagoneer, they’re so watered down it’s not even close to the concept.
Congrats! That XJ looks great!
Love it! Wish I could get my hands on one.
Looks awesome! I was searching for one too but ended up grabbing a super clean ‘03 Tacoma PreRunner instead with only 130k miles. Just after I bought it, I saw a really clean blue XJ for sale and I felt a bit jealous. Still, I love my Tacoma!
@Luca
I was ready to give up too and started looking at older trucks instead. Then this XJ appeared out of nowhere.
So jealous! I’ve been looking for one too. I sold my ‘99 2-door years back and regret it now.

Funny enough, the second I stopped actively looking, this one showed up. And yeah, letting go of that 2-door must hurt! It’s like letting go of a rare find.
@Logan
Exactly I was young, broke, and had no space or cash to fix it up. Had to put a new engine in, and it just wasn’t doable back then. I’m casually searching for another one while paying off my Wrangler. You got a great find!
She’s a beauty
How much did it run you, if you don’t mind sharing? And what site did you find it on?

I’m staying at an RV park, and another camper had it hitched to their motorhome. One day it disappeared, and later it was back but on a tow truck. Turns out it has a blown head gasket and that bad 0331 head. But I know how to fix it myself, so I bought it for $2,000. Seems high for a 24-year-old Jeep with issues, but the owner kept a 3-inch-thick maintenance log. It’s loaded with upgrades, like a Mishimoto radiator, upgraded throttle body, and all Amsoil fluids. Plus, it’s the limited trim with leather interior, so I couldn’t let it go!
