Clutch Recall Nightmare – Jeep Stuck in Dealer for 3 Months

I’m seeking advice for a concerning situation involving my elderly neighbor and his 2023 Jeep. He bought the Jeep brand new, opting for the old-school manual stick shift and crank-up windows. In May, the vehicle lost power while he was driving and had to be towed to the dealer.

The issue is related to a clutch recall, but unfortunately, the initial recall replacement part didn’t resolve the problem. For the past three months, the dealer has been claiming they are waiting for a part from a foreign country that’s currently not being produced due to labor shortages. Any advice or personal experiences would be really helpful. My neighbor is understandably anxious, and we want to find a solution as quickly as possible.

I’m not sure whether this would help, but you may try calling Jeep customer support and explaining the situation. The dealer will be pressured by them to finish it.

However, I’m not clear to which issue you are alluding; I believed that the clutch recall was to models 2021 and lower. I own a 21 and I have never had similar problems; in fact, I have had no problems with the clutch.

Maybe try contacting Jeep customer service directly? Sometimes a little nudge helps. Also, might be worth asking if there’s a temporary fix or loaner vehicle while they sort it out. Hope it gets sorted soon :grimacing:
