Mine is 3 inches, but it’s custom-built rather than a kit. I’m really hoping to upgrade to a bigger lift soon, but money’s tight. I don’t mind it, but if you’re looking for a smooth ride with a lifted XJ, this might not be the vehicle for you! Also, mine has 31s with 4" backspacing Cragars.

For off-roading with respectable on-road characteristics, a well-liked and practical improvement is raising your Jeep XJ three inches and fitting it with 31-inch tires. Coil and leaf springs, or a combination of spacers, add-a-leafs, or shackles, can be used to obtain a 3-inch lift. Consider utilizing a whole kit with brand-new coils and leaf springs made specifically for the raise for improved ride quality and longevity. It is important to upgrade to longer shocks that correspond with the lift height. Suspension with good quality will enhance off-road ability and ride quality. Stock control arms, which measure 3 inches, may be adequate, however movable control arms can aid in better alignment and handling.

A 3-inch lift with 31-inch tires is a popular upgrade for the Jeep XJ. Consider factors like tire width, lift kit quality, and potential need for additional components like shocks or control arms.
