What's the best tire rotation pattern for maximizing the lifespan of my Jeep's tires?

Hey everyone, I’m hoping you can help me out here. I posted this question on another forum, but didn’t get any responses, so I’m turning to you guys.

I’m planning to rotate my tires this weekend, and I have a few questions:

  1. What’s the best tire rotation pattern for my Jeep with four matching 33 x 12.50 x R15L tires?

  2. I came across an image that says “Tires must be reversed on the rims when crossing the vehicle in order to keep them rolling in the same direction.” Is this something I need to worry about? I’ve never had to do this with any of my vehicles before.

Appreciate any insights you all might have!

Hey Dolph! For your Jeep with those 33 x 12.50 x R15L tires, the best rotation pattern is the “X” pattern, swap the front tires to the opposite rear positions and vice versa. As for reversing tires on the rims, that’s only necessary for directional tires. If your tires aren’t directional, you should be fine without doing that.

The “X” pattern, in which the front tires move to the opposite rear positions and the rear tires move to the opposite front positions, is the ideal tire rotation pattern for your Jeep with four matching 33 x 12.50 x R15L tires. You shouldn’t have to worry about reversing tires on the rims because the advise only pertains to directional tires. However, it appears that your tires are non-directional. To ensure even wear, just follow the “X” pattern.
