These might be the smallest tires I've ever seen on a Jeep… anyone else?

Saw this today, couldn’t believe the tire size. Really interesting setup.

Looks awesome! Rallycross XJ? I’m here for it.

Honestly, I kinda love it.

How did it handle?

Pretty good actually. I didn’t get to ride along, but his times kept improving, so there’s potential there.

Nice, looks like he was having a blast! :v:

My old CJ had factory 15s. Models 5, 6, and 7 all used 15s.

Do you remember what the stock tire sizes were on those?

@Zora
Interesting, that’s close! I think this guy’s running 195/65/15.

Smaller wheels and tires give you a higher wheel speed. Really smart choice for a short track rallycross. Also easier on the axle and diff, and all the torque from that 4.0L. Math checks out to me.

What kind of tires are those?

They’re gravel rally tires. I think they’re the Accelera RA 162.

@Zee
Why would you want to shave off half the tread though?

That’s awesome!

A lot of Jeep guys want the biggest tires they can fit, but then they don’t leave enough room in the wheel well for flex on rough terrain. This guy’s doing it right.

Sureee you know all about it, don’t ya?

I’m running 35x12.5s on my XJ, and there’s plenty of room in the wheel wells. But mine’s lifted right for that size and the type of driving I do. I can put one front tire almost 5 feet off the ground before the rear tire lifts.

Looks like there’s a wide stance, maybe due to offset or spacers?

Body looks fantastic! Sweet setup!
