Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (very small leak)
i have checked my gas cap and it seems to be on fine …
the engine light came on a couple days back … so i " loaned " a code reader from AUTO ZONE >> got the light off …by reading the codeand then erasing .
never came on yesterday and didnt throw any codes yesterday …
today no engine light … but the code is being read again . .same code
what else can i check … ?
Check for any visible signs of damage or deterioration in the EVAP system components, including hoses, connections, and the charcoal canister.

P0456 code haunting you? Don’t just erase it! Faulty gas cap is common, try a new one. Code back? Look for cracked hoses or loose clamps around the fuel system. Smoke test (mechanic or rental from AutoZone?) can pinpoint the leak. Fix the leak, not just the light!

Clearing the code won’t fix the leak, it will likely come back. Double-check your gas cap, inspect for damage, and look for loose hoses. Consider a smoke test if needed. Good luck
